Meet Tanya

Hello! I’m Tanya Maddux, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Conroe Municipal Judge. I am deeply committed to the wellbeing of our community, driven by a vision for a brighter future that reflects our shared values of community strength, fairness, and unity.

Having grown up in Conroe and lived here for many years, I have deep ties to the community that shaped me. Raising my family here has given me a personal understanding of the issues facing our residents and the importance of strong local leadership. This connection fuels my commitment to serving as a fair and dedicated municipal judge who is focused on justice, accountability, and the wellbeing of the people who call Conroe home.

With a background in accounting, education, and community service, I have spent the past 25 years fostering community pride and engagement. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen carefully, think critically, and make thoughtful decisions. They have also reinforced my belief that our municipal court can play an important role in supporting community safety, strengthening families, and ensuring access to fair and efficient justice.

As a mother and longtime member of this community, I have seen firsthand the challenges families face and the importance of a justice system that works for everyone. I believe the municipal court should be a place where the law is applied fairly and firmly, free from political or external pressures, while still recognizing the human side of the cases that come before it.

At 54, I bring a lifetime of experience and mature judgment to this role. My experiences as a wife, mother, and community member have shaped my approach to leadership, strengthening my ability to listen with empathy, consider different perspectives, and make balanced decisions. Running for municipal judge is a natural extension of my life’s work and a meaningful opportunity to apply that experience in service to the public.

My wonderful family, Curt and our sons, and I are proud to call this community our home. Conroe has given so much to us, and I believe strongly in giving back through service and leadership.
